Privacy Policy

This policy explains how HohoClip (hohoclip.com, "we", "us") collects and uses information when you use our website and order a personalized greeting video. HohoClip makes short AI-generated videos in which an original, fictional Santa character speaks a message written from text you type. We do not accept photo uploads, we do not do face swaps, and our videos never use the face, voice or likeness of a real person.

The short version

• We collect only the text needed to write Santa's message (for example a child's first name, age, town, interests, one proud moment, a wish, an optional line from you and who the video is from).
• We never ask for or accept photos, videos, voice recordings or faces of anyone, and we never ask for a child's surname, street address, school or contact details.
• Payments are handled by our merchant of record, Dodo Payments. We never see or store your full card number.
• We don't sell or rent your data, don't use it for advertising, and don't use it to train AI models.
• Order text and videos are deleted automatically 30 days after Christmas (by January 24 of the following year), or sooner on request.

Who provides the information

HohoClip is a service for adults (18+). A parent, guardian or other adult buyer enters all information. Children should not use the site themselves, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, email hello@hohoclip.com and we will delete it.

What we collect and why

• Video details (text you type): used only to write the script, generate the video and the free printables, and to check that the text follows our content rules.
• Order details: the plan you chose, order status and the private link to your video, so we can deliver it and help with support or refunds.
• Payment information: collected and processed by Dodo Payments as merchant of record (card or wallet details, billing name and address, email, and tax information). We receive only limited confirmation details such as your email, the amount, the order reference and the payment status.
• Account data (optional): your email address, sign-in sessions and the videos linked to your account.
• Support messages: if you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you.
• Basic technical data: IP address, browser and device type, and request logs, used to run the site, prevent abuse and fraud, and keep the service secure. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Accounts and sign-in

Creating an account is optional. If you sign in, we process the following strictly to keep you signed in and to show you your videos:

• Your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time code.
• Google account details if you choose to sign in with Google: your Google account ID, name and email address as provided by Google.
• Sign-in codes, stored only as a hash and expiring after 10 minutes.
• A session cookie, strictly necessary and httpOnly, which keeps you signed in for up to 30 days.
• Session metadata (IP address and user agent), kept for security; for rate limiting we store hashed values only.

Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies (for sign-in and security) and store your language choice in your browser. We do not use advertising cookies.

Service providers

We share data only with providers that help us run the service, and only as needed for that purpose:

• Dodo Payments (merchant of record): checkout, payment processing, taxes, receipts and refunds. Dodo Payments handles your payment data under its own privacy policy.
• Cloudflare: website hosting, database, security and email forwarding for our support address.
• AI inference providers: to turn your script into Santa's voice and animation, using our own fictional Santa artwork. They receive the script text, not your account or payment details.
• An email delivery provider: to send sign-in codes and essential order messages.
• Google Sign-In (Google LLC, policies.google.com/privacy), only if you choose to sign in with Google.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users or the public.

Share links

Each finished video has an unlisted, hard-to-guess link that is not indexed by search engines. Anyone with the link can watch the video, so share it only with people you trust. You can ask us to disable a link at any time.

How long we keep data

• Video details, scripts and video files: until 30 days after Christmas, then deleted automatically, or sooner on request.
• Account data: until you ask us to delete your account.
• Order and transaction records: kept as long as required for accounting, tax and fraud-prevention purposes (payment records are kept by Dodo Payments under its own obligations).

International transfers and security

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. We use reputable providers with appropriate safeguards, encrypt data in transit (HTTPS), and limit access to the people and systems that need it.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data at any time by emailing hello@hohoclip.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under the GDPR or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights, including the right to object to processing and to complain to your local data protection authority. We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We respond to requests within 30 days.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, post a notice on the site.
